Jakarta—PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) has launched an employee competence development acceleration program called MAST3R (Mentoring and Area Skill Transfer for Effective Acceleration). Under the theme "Fostering Talents, Building The Future," the program aims to enhance human resource quality and promote a culture of innovation within the company, ensuring it remains competitive in facing future business challenges.
This program consists of activities starting in June 2024, followed by online and offline training sessions during July–August 2024 and an engagement gathering in Bandung on October 3, 2024. It is expected to conclude in early 2025.
This year, the MAST3R program focuses on three key themes: cost efficiency and effectiveness, innovation, and digitalization, implemented through nine flagship projects. These projects, initiated by the President Director of PHI, are expected to deliver innovative solutions to improve the company’s efficiency and competitiveness amidst the increasingly dynamic oil and gas industry. Each project group will present their ideas three times throughout the program.
During the program’s kick-off, PHI President Director Sunaryanto emphasized that employees are the company’s most valuable asset in achieving its vision and mission. Various efforts to develop and enhance employee competencies are continuously being promoted, including the launch of the MAST3R Program. “MAST3R is an integrated employee competence development acceleration program that provides a platform to connect employees with experienced champions and mentors,” he added.
PHI Senior Manager of Human Capital Amilia Elvandari revealed that MAST3R is an integrated development program that pairs selected employees (mentees) with experienced mentors and champions in their fields. Through this program, mentees receive direct guidance to improve their skills, broaden their knowledge, and build a stronger professional network. The MAST3R program also encourages applying the company's core values (AKHLAK) in every work activity, ensuring employees focus on results and professional ethics.
PHI VP of Production & Operations, Achmad Jamaludin Perdana, explained that the flagship projects in the MAST3R program are strategic projects expected to contribute to the company significantly. “I encourage mentees to view this program as an opportunity to accelerate their technical and soft skills by actively participating in a project and receiving mentoring from experienced seniors while also expanding their professional networks,” said Achmad. As for the mentors and co-mentors, Achmad added that the project provides an opportunity to share experiences and expertise and a forum for exchanging ideas and honing leadership skills.
